Pepperidge Farm Cookie Engravings
The Pepperidge Farm cookies for the Return of the Jedi promotion were printed using rotary molds. The original designs for these cookies were first made via brass engravings, a process that is still used today. A company based in Michigan did all engravings for the original Star Wars cookies. These were each hand done by an engraver and imprinted as a purple-toned rubbery hardcopy. The rotary dies were made from that hardcopy. For more information about these engravings, please consult my blog entry on starwars.com
