Hoth Stormtrooper Production Series
Many prototype collectors will attempt to acquire a series of pieces, reflecting the various stages of a particular item's production process. Such a collection can bring new significance, both to prototype and regular production pieces, by fostering a new understanding of how the toy was created, as well as the artistry that went into it. Here, Eric has assembled a group of Hoth Stormtrooper figures, reflecting some of the important stages in an action figure's development. From left to right: assembled, hand painted hardcopy; painted first shot (shown from the back to emphasize its lack of production markings); and finished production figure. Such a series might conceivably grow to encompass an original wax sculpting, unpainted hardcopy, or signed carded sample, but such scope is beyond the realm of all normal possibility.
