Cobot Lifesize Promotional Unit (Version 1)
Although most collectors are familiar with Coke's toy-size version of everyone's favorite cantankerous astromech droid, R2-D2, the life size version that you see here has never received much attention. Coke apparently produced a handful of these units for use in promotional appearances. It is fully remote-controlled and is even equipped with an 8-track player, which I would guess was used, not to play your favorite Styx albums, but to make the unit spout Coke slogans. As you might be able to tell from this photo, the face of the dome says "Coke Is It."

Here you see the unit's side...

...and the various parts it came with, including the controls used to operate it.

If you compare this large version with the standard Cobot toy, you'll notice that the graphics used on the "barrel" portions of the two droids differ substantially. I'm not sure why this is, but another version of this large Cobot is known to exist, this one bearing the more familiar graphics. Its possible that two different versions were distributed, or even that this one is a prototype.
