| C-3PO Bacta Chamber Unproduced Unpainted 4-up Hardcopy | |
| This is
a C-3PO 4UP from the unproduced Hoth
Bacta Chamber playset. As you can see it is completely unpainted and made
of a green casting material known as Dynacast.
Although we don't have a production sized figure shown for scale this piece
would have been sculpted in wax at 4x the size of production. Micro Collection
figures were sculpted this way for better detailing. A silcone mold would then
be made from the wax sculpt and 4UP hardcopies would be pulled from it. Later,
one of these 4UPs would be used in a pantograph
and a scaled down mold would be cut at 1/4 the size of the hardcopy. From this
mold production size figures would be made. An unpainted metal version of the
