Patrol Dewback (Black Bar Box)
French writing is usually a dead giveaway for a Canadian released toy. Here, the ESB logo is in French, but the toy itself is the same as all other Patrol Dewbacks. These ESB logo boxes are pretty tough to come by and the Canadian versions seem to be the most prevalent. There was a U.S. version of the ESB box that is much more difficult to find. Some of these ESB Dewbacks had a special offer on the box where a Stormtrooper figure was included as a bonus. I believe that this particular box has that offer removed which is evident from the black bar across the bottom text. Like all special offers of this nature, they are pretty rare. The most popular form of the Dewback is the original SW boxed one and the SW Collectors Series version that was released during the Jedi time period. Dewbacks are just some of the toys that were not released abroad and European collectors scramble to find them.
