Description:
The 1982 version of the vinyl storage case just might be my favorite of the bunch. I just love the artwork that adorns its front panel. Of course, since it was released in '82, these graphics took care to focus on several of the Star Wars toys which hit store shelves that year, including the Tripod Laser Cannon, Rebel Transport, Wampa and Scout Walker. It also prominently featured several of the figures that were new to the line that year, such as the AT-AT Commander, Cloud Car Pilot and the new versions of R2-D2 and C-3PO.

Next to the Return of the Jedi vinyl case, which was released the following year, this version of the item is probably the rarest. It's particularly tough to find in unused condition, with its seal sticker intact. Collectors should note that the interior and plastic trays of this version are red.

First Issued: 1982 (ESB graphics)
